Who are the Behlool Society?

Behlool SocietyThe formation of the Behlool Society in July 2002 was in response to the perceived lack of spiritual identity in youths aged 15-30 in the Leicester Local Community.

The mission was simple and clear; to provide a continuous Islamic Education program in preparation of the advent of Imam Mahdi (a.s). Based on the words of Imam Ali (as), “Raise your children differently from the way you were raised, for they are going to live in a different time”, we aimed to provide programs in mediums conducive to the needs of the youths of our community.

This was reflected in the choice of name for the Society, as Janabe Behlool was an honoured companion of the Ahlul Bait who used unorthodox but extremely effective ways of conveying the message of Islam.

The Behlool Society has now grown into a very well known name, run by the local youth of the Leicester jamaat working to benefit the youth of this generation and our community.

The Behlool Society organises youth conferences, by inviting various different lecturers and characters in from around the world, to either talk about Islam or to talk about the way things are being run in the western society. Involving the young and old of our community to encourage unity and further our knowledge and understanding of Islam.

The Behlool Society intends on making life beneficial for the youngsters to find life easier as well as develop an understanding for Islam, encouraging them to take part within our community and projects, to better their understanding during their period of acknowledgement.
